Annie Oakley Festival
What does $3 get you in today’s world?

Spend just $3 on a weekend pass for the Annie Oakley Days being held on Friday, July 26, Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, July 28 at the Darke County fairgrounds and you will be amazed at what that small weekend pass will get you.

First of all you will have unlimited admission to the fairgrounds all three days including free parking each day. This year enter gate 1 and park under the trees, in the shade and very close to the festival.

You can attend the annual Melodrama being put on by the Darke County Civic Theater in the youth building and if you enjoy the show and want to see it again. Yes that pass will let you do that. The Melodrama is presented Friday at 7pm, Saturday at 3 and 7, and again on Sunday at 1pm. This years performance will be “The Ol’ Homestead”. Boo the villain and cheer on the hero and have a great fun filled experience.

Take a scroll through the Fine Arts Building and see the entries for the photo contest sponsored by Timothy Clopp Photography of Arcanum, and the ugly boot contest sponsored by The Bootery of Downtown Greenville. The entries for the T-Shirt design contest and the Essay contest will also be on display.

Be sure to bring the kids and participate in the Family Fun Games on Friday at 1pm, Saturday at 1pm and again on Sunday at 1pm. The events are Water Balloon Toss, Sack Races, Rollin Pin Throwing, and Pole Throwing. We have also added a Super Farmer contest for this year. Family Fun Games is sponsored by Barga Heating of Greenville.

Watch the performance of the 11th Annie Oakley Western Arts Showcase in the top of the coliseum presented by GLD Enterprises. Performances are held on Friday at 7pm, Saturday at 1 and 6pm, and Sunday at noon and 2pm. Performing will be the National Whip Speed & Accuracy Exhibition Competition, the International Bullwhip Fast Draw Exhibition Competition, and the Wild West Showcase Performance - Whip Artistry by Chris Camp, Gery L. Deer and Robert Dante, Trick Roping, BASS BLADES Impalement & More!

Your $3 ticket will also get you free passage on the Historical Bus Tours leaving the fairground in modern air conditioned busses and showing you the Annie Historical sights in Darke County. You can sign up at festival headquarters but be sure to do so early as last year we had to turn people away when the bus was full. The bus leaves Saturday at 1, 3, and 5 and again on Sunday at 1 and 3.

The new Greenville Fast Draw will hold performances at 10am and 2pm on Saturday and you can also scroll through the many unique cars on display for the Annie Oakley Festival Car Show, Saturday at 1pm.  On Sunday the car show area will be the home of the new Annie and Dave’s Dog Fest. Be sure not to miss this new event.

You can watch the National Kiddie Tractor Pull in front of the Grandstand at 7:30pm on Saturday.  While at Annie Oakley Days be sure to bring the little ones and have them take a roping lesson and yes that is free with your $3 ticket. OH, and yes the adults can also have a lesson. This should be fun just to watch. Available all three days at various times.

Did I forget to mention the Cornhole Tournament, Saturday at 2pm and the new Horseshoe Tournament, Saturday at 1pm. Both events are sponsored by Captain D’s seafood and the entry form is on the forms page of our website.

Free entertainment will be held all three days in the Gazebo. On Friday beginning at 1pm will be Brian Benedict, the Singing Fireman, at 4 begins the Classics and ending the day will be Spittin Image at 7:30pm. Friday at 7pm will also have the Little Miss and Mr contest in front of the Gazebo, sponsored by Diane Evans Insurance, Greenville.

Saturday at the Gazebo will be Tempest at 1:00 followed by Clark Station, and on Sunday our new talent competition will begin at 1pm.

While on the grounds be sure to take advantage of the many food and drink vendors. We welcome Company BBQ to the festival this year. Some of you may have enjoyed their offerings at the restaurant in Englewood and they will be bringing some of their best to the festival this year. We also have quite a few new food and drink vendors and yes, Farmer Brown, Just Ice Cream, and Tennessie's Philippine Cuisine will be returning to the festival. We will also have Potato Tornadoes & More, Fire Grill out of North Carolina, Taste of Europe from Michigan and Our Thyme Catering & Concessions.
