Big Brothers Big Sisters
Time left to adopt your duck is waddling away!!!

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Shelby and Darke County will be hosting the Rubber Duck Race on June 20th.  Local community members can adopt a little rubber duck for $5.00 a piece or $25.00 for six!!  The sold adopted ducks will be dumped into the river at the same time beginning at 7:30 p.m. and compete for Prizes.  This year the grand prize will win $1000.00.  Other prizes include a 2-3 day passes to Country Concert and many other great prizes!!  A total of 12 prizes will be awarded.  The goal for the local agency is to sell 4000 of these ducks.  To date we have sold around 1250.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is a non-profit United Way Member agency serving children from primarily single parent homes.  Children are provided with a volunteer role model who can offer these kids guidance and support as well as fun!!

Anyone wishing to get in on the fun and adopt one of these ducks can log onto the agencies website at bigbrobigsis.shelbydarke.org or just check us out for other volunteer opportunities.  You can also reach the office at 937-492-7611, 937-547-9622 or e-mail at info@bigbrobigsis-shelbydarke.org

Ducks are also being sold at Meyer’s Drive Thru in Newport, Sidney Body Carstar, Best One Tire, Ron & Nita’s, 47 Bar & Grille, and Hot Rods & Harleys in Greenville.  Duck adoption information may also be found on our website www.bigbrobigsis-shelbydarke.org .
