Mercer County Safe Communities to be at Goettemoeller Cruise In 

Celina, OH – Mercer County Safe Communities in cooperation with the Mercer County Rib Fest will be on hand during the Goettemoeller Cruise In on May 17 and Bike Night May 18.  There will be a special “Blessing of the bikes at 5:45 PM on Saturday. 

Safe Community Representatives along with the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office will be on hand with traffic safety materials each night from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. 

On Friday May 17th, Safe Community partners will be kicking off the national campaign of “Click It or Ticket”.  This campaign runs from May 20th to June 2nd.  There will be additional deputies assigned to patrol Mercer County roadways with a focus on the use of seatbelts and other traffic offenses. 

Mercer County has recorded one fatal crash in 2013.  In 2012 Mercer County recorded 6 fatal crashes during this same time frame. 

Mercer County Safe Communities and partners are dedicated to keeping our roadways safe.  We look forward to seeing you on Friday and Saturday and we invite news media to attend the kickoff event.
