Operation Help a
Hero’s Operation Rack Pack
Please join the Greenville High School Naval Junior ROTC program in
helping our Troops! November 14 – December 07
IN SUPPORT OF MARINES AND SAILORS RETURNING FROM DEPLOYMENT
Did you know that young, single Marines & Sailors often return from
deployment in the middle of the night, with no family present to
welcome them back on American soil? Most immediately check into barren
barracks rooms with nothing but the clothes on their backs, their
belongings in storage. Their first night spent back “at home” often
leaves them with no means to clean themselves up, get a decent meal or
relax. Operation Rack Pack is a program set up by the nonprofit
organization Operation Help a Hero to change that fact.
Several Darke County graduates are among those who have been helped!!
Because of this, GHS NJROTC WANTS TO HELP!
November 14 through December 7, bring your items to Greenville High
School office or Greenville Moose Lodge #329 & place them in our
donation box. Or find a NJROTC student who will deliver them for
you! We will ship them to Operation Help a Hero’s headquarters at Camp
Pendleton in California!
Items to be collected include: towels, washcloths, soap, shampoo,
shaving cream, razors, toothpaste, toothbrushes, protein bars, noodle
cups, popcorn, chips, cookies, candy, microwaveable foods, soda, water,
sports drinks, coffee, energy drinks, paper plates, plastic utensils,
napkins, new or slightly used DVDS or computer games, puzzle books,
small games, video games, pillow cases, T-shirts, etc. They will also
accept gift cards to stores like Wal-Mart, Target, or fast food such as
Taco Bell, Wendy’s, Subway, McDonalds, etc. We will also be able to
mail checks if you would prefer to give a monetary donation. Please
make checks payable to: Operation Help a Hero. We are also willing to
take cash (or check payable to GHS NJROTC) donations to help offset the
cost of shipping the items to California.
