The Jubilees

The Cancer Association of Darke County
Annual Gospel Sing scheduled for November 17, 2013

The Gospel Sing is a free, nondenominational concert to be held at Saint Clair Memorial Hall in Greenville, Ohio on November 17 starting at 4:00 PM. A freewill offering will be taken that afternoon with proceeds to go to the local cancer association.

Several groups are scheduled to sing, so please watch the newspapers and online news weekly for specific details.

Two of the groups scheduled to sing are The Jubilees and The Lemon Family.

The Jubilees”

The Jubilees officially started singing August, 2000 in Marion, Indiana. After winning a talent search at the Northern Gospel Singing Convention, the Lord blessed the group with recordings. The first recording was entitled “The Jubilees Family Reunion.” Their second project was “Ready to Go” with Eddie Crook of the Happy Goodmans and was recorded in 2002. The Jubilees state that they appreciate all the Lord has done for them as well as their friends, family and churches. Their purpose in signing is to present Jesus Christ to all they meet.

The Lemon Family”

Mike, Lori, Kari and Julie Lemon have been involved with music all of their lives, singing all over Darke County and surrounding areas.

Kari graduated from Ball State University in 2012 with a degree in Music Education. She is currently employed by the Fayette County School Corporation in Connersville, IN. She is the Elementary General Music Teacher for Maplewood and Frazee Elementary Schools. She also directs both the children’s and senior choirs at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Greenville and works at Kmart on the weekends.

Julie is a junior at Ball State, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice. She is involved with the Concert Choir and Women’s Chorus at Ball State and also works at Kmart when she is available. She also assists with the Senior Choir at St. Paul’s.

Mike works for BASF Corporation in Greenville and Lori works forth Whitewater Eye Centers, primarily in the Greenville location. She is also the director of music, organist/pianist at St. Pauls’ Lutheran Church in Greenville, where the family spend Sundays singing.

The Lemon Family is very excited that they are able to sing for the Cancer Associations benefit this year.

All proceeds will go to the Cancer Association of Darke County, 1111 Sweitzer St, Greenville, OH, which serves cancer patients in Darke County only. The association partners with United Way and is not affiliated with the American Cancer Society or other organizations.

Please call Christine Lynn, Executive Director for any questions regarding the concert or the association at 937-548-9960.
