Tan Yer’ Hides 

Join a wandering Longhunter at Shawnee Prairie Preserve on Saturday, October 26th at 10:00am as he goes through the pioneer method of brain-tanning a hide. We will first flesh a hide, and then mix up the brain-solution that will tan the hide. This will be a hands-on (with some butchering occurring) program that will help you gain the experience you need to tan your own hides! The program will take place in and outside the Log House, so dress for the weather as there is no internal heating.
