Andre Johnson benefit to be held
By Drea Becraft

Any parent will tell you there is nothing on earth more important than the life of your child. Including your own life. Andre Johnson, a father of six, is now in critical condition after putting his son’s life before his own.

On August 20, 2013, after his son ran into traffic on Martin Street, this heroic father was struck by a vehicle he saved his son from. Two year old Shawnaven suffered a broken leg in the accident, but family says he's doing fine. Andre is still in ICU at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton while doctors have him in a drug-induced coma because of swelling of the brain.

Although a well-known man in the community, Andre has very few family members who reside in Greenville; most living in Illinois, but those left behind eagerly wait for him to get well very soon. Because of the lack of family, but not the lack of prayers, friends Stacy Gibson and Magan Nims are throwing a benefit for Andre to help pay for medical expenses.

The benefit for Andre Johnson and family will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 3-11 p.m. at J & J Enterprises on 502 just out of Greenville. A one-dollar donation is being asked for admission to the event but kids will be admitted free.

DJ services by Troy Kammer will be playing from 3-9 followed by the live band Head Space from 9-11. Ticket will be sold for 50/50 and raffles, where you can win several gift baskets and gift cards provided by donors. Hot dogs, pop, and water will also be on sale, all benefits going to the family. Also attendees can play corn hole, hillbilly golf, swim, or just come out and support a worthy cause.

Not able to attend but still want to make a donation? Contact: Stacy Gibson at sndwedding@live.com or you can reach her on her cell phone at 937-467-0940; also feel free to contact Magan Nims 937-564-8104. At this time they are still in need of paper plates, napkins, individual wrapped chips, pop, and water for the event.

There is a facebook event page set up for this event at https://www.facebook.com/events/156079947919914/?fref=ts for those of you looking for more up to date information about this event.

Please come out and spend the afternoon amongst friends and help this family in need.
