EUM church offers support
This Winter, EUM Church is hosting several support groups that offer
practical solutions for everyday life. Those being offered are:
Boundaries – Boundaries is a unique journey – of growth, of challenge
to change, of problem solving, of recovery, of hope. Offering practical
help and encouragement to all who seek a healthy and balanced life,
Boundaries presents insight and wisdom for those seeking to deal with
their inability to say no. Each of the eight Boundaries sessions
contains a video presentation by Drs. Cloud and Townsend. It's the
centerpiece for insights, exercises, and spirited group discussion that
can profoundly improve the quality of your relationships in every
sphere of life---marriage, family, friendships, church, and the
workplace.
Boundaries in Dating - Dating can be fun, but it's not easy. Meeting
people is just one concern. Once you've met someone, then what? What do
you build? Nothing, a simple friendship, or more? How do you set smart
limits on physical involvement? Financial involvement? Individual
responsibilities? Learn to bridge the pitfalls of dating and follow the
biblical path to developing self-control, freedom, and intimacy in the
dating process. Boundaries in Dating helps singles to think, solve
problems, and enjoy the benefits of dating to the hilt, increasing
their abilities to find and commit to a marriage partner.
The Daniel Plan - God desires our bodies to be healthy. The Daniel Plan
shows you how focusing on the powerful combination of 5 key essentials
can change your life forever. …faith, food, fitness, focus, and
friends. You will deepen your relationship with God and develop a
community of supportive friends who will encourage you to make
healthier choices each and every day
DivorceCare - DivorceCare will help sort out your thoughts and emotions
and help you discover what God says about your situation. It's a path
of thorns, but the healing process is always smoother when you know
there are others traveling the same route, and others still who have
walked in your shoes. The sessions are Bible-based, and one of the
goals is that people will be drawn closer to God while they go through
a process of healing. Each session will feature videos with counselors,
psychologists, ministers and "people who have gone through the same
pain," Every aspect of separation and divorce is addressed, including
how children are affected and what to do about finances.
Joy Keepers Chronic Pain & Illness Support Group - Are you sick and
tired of being sick and tired? And do you feel it's hard to keep joy in
your heart because of all of the pain and suffering you experience
because of chronic illness and condition? Join Joy Keepers for a time
of education, faith building and fun; a group that supports one another
through the struggles of pain and illness. Dealing with subjects like *
Understanding and becoming an active self-manager * Focusing on your
feelings, your fears and your faith * The exhaustion is taking over! *
Managing your medicines * When friends and family just don't understand
* Making treatment decisions * and much more.
Single & Parenting - Help & Hope for Single Parents! If you’re
a single parent, you’re probably tired, overwhelmed and feeling a bit
under appreciated. That’s why we created Single & Parenting
groups—to share tips and parenting wisdom that will help you find rest,
hope and encouragement.
GriefShare - Walk the journey of grief and be supported on the
way. Griefshare is a place where hurting people find healing and
hope. It is a network of grief recovery support that will give
you direction, purpose and healing.
S.C.A.R.S. Healing from Abuse - Women will find biblical guidance for
dealing with abuse and its effects. The Bible helps us to understand
domestic violence and shows us Godly ways to respond to it. Every other
Saturday, from 1:00—2:30 pm at EUM Downtown Campus. Start date posted
soon.
Wounded Heart: Hope for Adult Victims of Childhood Sexual Abuse -
Sexual abuse is one of the most “soul deadening” forms of abuse. In
this women's small group, you will be led step-by-step through the
process of change; facing the truth about past and present experiences
and feelings; wrestling with God, other people and yourself; and
understanding the goals and fears that has determined how you relate to
others.
