A night of romance and laughter

Darke County Civic Theater and Darke County Humane Society will be pairing together for a night of romance and laughter. If you're looking for something unique to do this Valentine's Day, then you should attend this first time collaboration between these two groups.

The Civic Theater will be presenting two one act plays. The first is entitled “WANTED: One Groom” by Claudene Rease. The story follows young but hopeful Kayla, who's parents met through a classified ad and have been happily married for many years. Kayla and her parents decide that this would be a great option for her as well, so she calls over her best friend to discuss the arrangements. The doorbell rings. A young gentleman, who just happens to be eligible, is answering an ad... for an antique statue! Through a hilarious conversation laced with double meanings, the prospective buyer becomes the prospective groom!

The second show is entitled “SPEED DATE” By Janet Allard. It's Valentine's Day and the pressure is on. Seventeen crazy characters search for love in a round-robin game of speed dating. Everyone's in on the action: they're desperate, chatty, needy, strange -- and the clock is ticking. Will they find love before time runs out?

Accompanying the two plays will be a romantic setting fit for any special couple, hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and fund raising. All proceeds will benefit Darke County Civic Theater and Darke County Humane Society.

So, mark your calendars and get ready for an exciting night out. Tickets are just $14.00 per person and will include hors d'oeuvres, one drink, dessert, and two one act plays. For your enjoyment, there will also be a cash bar available where you can purchase wine, beer, and pop.

Tickets will be available starting January 14th at Paws Bingo Hall, 848 Martin St., Greenville, Ohio. ADVANCE RESERVATIONS REQUIRED WITH LIMITED SEATING. For additional information on this event, feel free to call Paw's Bingo Hall at (937) 548-7299, or for additional information on the production, call Dane Leeper at (937) 337-2265 or visit www.darkecountycivictheater.org
