CBC rolls out ‘summer cruze-in’ 2014 blood drive

DAYTON, Ohio – Whether it’s idling at the drive-in or rolling out onto the open road, summer is all about cruising. Community Blood Center (CBC) is saluting the great escape of summer travel, and encouraging blood donations during this busy time of year, with the “Summer Cruze-In 2014 Blood Drive.” Everyone who registers to donate this summer will get at least one chance to win a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze in the fall.

The Cruze is a four-door, compact sedan that has enjoyed rave reviews. Car enthusiasts applaud its appealing blend of fuel efficiency, elegant styling and overall refinement. The color of the “Summer Cruze-In” grand-prize model is “champagne silver” as a toast to CBC’s “50 Years of Saving Lives” anniversary celebration in September.

CBC is making two exciting changes to its traditional summer blood drive campaign. The campaign has been extended to four months (May 30 through Sept. 30). In addition, eligible donors can now double their chances of winning. Eligible donors will be entered into the drawing a second time when they register for a second donation during the blood drive period.

Anyone age 18 and older who registers to donate at any CBC Donor Center or CBC mobile blood drive May 30 through Sept. 30 will be automatically entered in the drawing to win a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze, valued at approximately $19,000.

The grand-prize Cruze is an LS model with power windows and locks, tilt steering wheel, XM satellite radio and CD player with Bluetooth connectivity and USB port, four-cylinder engine and automatic transmission delivering 22 mpg city/35 mpg highway fuel economy.

Ten computer-selected finalists will be invited to a special envelope-opening announcement event on or about October 23 to discover the Chevy Cruze winner. Each registered, eligible donor receives a maximum of two chances to win. You must be age 18 or older to win. Official rules are available at www.givingblood.org.
