MVCTC Offers Several Summer Camps for Students and Teachers!

Clayton, Ohio – The Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) has many exciting summer opportunities for students and teachers this year. For full details on all offerings, please visit www.mvctc.com/career_camp.

Student Career Camp- June 9-13, 2014, 9 - 11:30 a.m. each day.
Student Career Camp is for students entering the 8th, 9th, and 10th grades from MVCTC’s partner school districts. The purpose of the one-week career camp is to give students a hands-on experience in various programs to help them make good career decisions. There is no charge for Career Camp but campers must provide their own transportation. Supplies will be provided each day. Teacher Career Camp – June 9-13, 2014, 8:30-11:30 a.m. each day.
Teacher Career Camp is for all teachers from MVCTC’s partner school districts. The purpose of the one-week camp is for teachers to experience hands-on activities in several career fields, enlighten teachers on the changes in career technical education, and to share with participants the great salaries and working conditions that exist for career technical students. One semester hour of graduate credit or 1.5 CEU’s may be earned. For more information, please call Kelly Haws at (937) 854-6244.

STEM Camp – June 16-20, 2014, 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. each day.
STEM Camp is for students entering the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade with an interest in using Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) to think critically and problem solve. Students can choose two programs and will spend a full day exploring these career areas with highly qualified math, science, and career-based instructors. Lunch will be provided each day. Registration for this camp is $50 for students that live in a partner school district and $75 if not living in a partner school district.
