Edison Holds 5K
for Athletics
Edison Community College’s 5K for Athletics race will be held on
Saturday, October 11, 2014, at the Piqua Campus. All of the money
raised from the event will directly benefit Edison Community College
athletic programs. The funds will be used to support programs and needs
of student-athletes.
Those interested in participating can pre-register for the event online
now through October 2, 2014 at www.edisonohio.edu/edison5k. Entry fees
are $20 for pre-registered participants and $25 for race day
registrations. Pre-registered participants will receive a free t-shirt
and additional shirts will be sold for $5 on race day.
“Edison’s 5K for Athletics is a great opportunity to show your support
for local athletes,” said Nate Cole, Director of Athletics and Student
Life. “Our student-athletes put their heart and soul into playing for
Edison. To return the favor, we want to help support them by providing
them with the opportunities they deserve.”
Registration begins at 8 a.m., followed by the official start of the
race 9 a.m. Starting in the back parking lot of the College, the
five-kilometer race is an “out-and-back” course, and is run entirely on
pavement.
