Needed for Maple Syrup Festival
Freezing Nights & Thawing Days
During this entertaining and eventful time of the year the Friends of
the Darke County Parks hosts a Waffle & Sausage Breakfast and the
Park District hosts a Maple Syrup Festival. Below are the
different days and opportunities in which we could use your help.
Maple Syrup Festival
Join us at Shawnee Prairie on Saturday, March 7th (8am-4pm) and assist
with the festival.

Shack

District)

Bake Sale Items
Do you have a favorite recipe that has maple syrup, maple flavoring or
maple sugar as an ingredient? If so, during the Maple Syrup Festival,
the Friends of the Parks are hosting a Bake Sale and are seeking
donations. If you are interested, please contact Laura today at
937.548.0165. Please drop off all Bake Sale items by 1PM on
Friday, March 6th.
*All items donated for the bake sale need to be labeled with a name and
all ingredients used.*

Waffle and Sausage Breakfast
Do you want to be involved with the breakfast? Held on Saturday, March
7th, 8AM-12PM and we need your help to host a successful
breakfast. See below for available volunteer positions:
Volunteer shifts are 7AM-1PM...
If you can’t assist with entire shift, please let me know and we can
work out a time for you to help.
Welcome, 50/50 Raffle, Ticket Collector
Mixing batter
Making waffles/sausages
Serving waffles/sausages
Serving Maple Syrup/butter
Beverages (Coffee, Milk, Orange Juice)
Dining room
Washing dishes/ silverware
Floaters (assist where needed)
We are also in need of a couple volunteers to help with clean-up.
Please plan on arriving at 11AM and help until around 1PM. Duties
include, but are not limited to, assisting with the tail end of the
breakfast, wiping down tables, putting away tables and chairs, and
making sure all breakfast appliances are cleaned.

involved with the breakfast or have any breakfast appliance you could
loan out (please put your name on the appliance).
Waffle and Sausage Breakfast Set-Up
We will be setting up for the Breakfast on Friday, March 6th at 1PM. If
you are able to help please let me know today!
Waffle and Sausage Breakfast Flyers can be picked up at the Nature
Center, Reception Desk to be posted around town and at local businesses.
