Darke County Parks hosts historical author

The Darke County Park District will be hosting author James Alexander Thom, well-known author of a series of historical novels on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 from 10:30 am to 7:30 pm in the Shawnee Prairie Nature Education Center.  Mr. Thom will be selling and signing books for his many followers.  Mr. Thom will be at the Nature Center to take part in the unveiling of the replica of the War of 1812 Silver Peace Pipe now permanently on display in the Tecumseh Room.  Historical demonstrations, a reception and a re-enactment of the signing of the Second Treaty of Greenville will take place starting at 4:00 pm.  This event is co-hosted by the Darke County Park District and the Treaty of Greene Ville Bicentennial Commission.  Call the Nature Center at (937) 548-0165 for more information.
