Celtic Academy of Irish Dance to Perform at Edison

To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, the Diversity Committee at Edison Community College is hosting a special performance by the Celtic Academy of Irish Dance. The Academy will perform on Tuesday, March 17 from 12–12:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at the Piqua campus. This event is being offered free of charge and is open to the community.

Since 1989, the Celtic Academy of Irish Dance has been dazzling audiences with vibrant performances showcasing the beauty and energy of Irish dance. As Dayton’s premier school of Irish dance, the Celtic Academy feels privileged to share the joy of Irish culture and dance with Dayton and the greater Miami Valley.

Enjoy the grace and beauty of traditional jigs and reels and clap along to the thundering beat of percussive rhythms. Revel in their inventive choreography and dynamic music that will leave you wanting more. The Celtic Academy of Irish Dance has previously performed with nationally recognized bands, including Gaelic Storm, the Elders, and Scythian.

The mission of the Celtic Academy is to promote a greater understanding and appreciation of the Irish culture through dance, and what better day to this but on St. Patrick’s Day. For more information, contact Marva Archibald at 937-778-7908, or by email at marchibald@edisonohio.edu.
