The Poultry Days Social Tent Rocks!

The Poultry Days’ Social Tent will offer largest live music event in Darke County again for 2017 with an incredible lineup of musicians.  Nine live musical acts offer sounds ranging from familiar festival tunes, to alternative rock, to popular country.  With a Social Tent that can hold 2,000 people you can choose to be up front by the music or at a quiet table in our bar area.  If you want to be in the sunshine or under the stars, table seating has been expanded yet again to 450.  Ten years ago we offered two beverages and 5 bands in the Social Tent.  This year we offer over 30 different types of beer, ale, cider, wine and 9 bands to make your Poultry Days more enjoyable.

Each year the board works to improve our festival and for 2017 the Social Tent will continue to offer Bud Light and Busch Light as well as Miller Coors products.  Miller Coors is sponsoring the social tent and will be adding products to our main line as well as our small bar area.  Our main line will serve Bud Light, Busch Light, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Miller Lite, Coors Light, Miller 64 and Yuengling.  Our bar area will serve Voo Doo IPA, Redds Apple, Redds Blueberry, Citra Dellic, Fat Tire, Summer Shandy, Pale Ale, Henry’s Grape, Henry’s Orange and Blue Moon.

The Winery at Versailles returns to the festival with a selection including Cabernet Franc, Pinot Grigio, Buckeye Blush, Rodeo Red, Wedding White, Strawberry Summer Days, Peach Summer Days, Raspberry Summer Days, Happily Ever After and of course, we will have Sangria cocktails and jello shots!  Especially for Poultry Days the winery is making a limited run of 50 cases of “Rooster Red” that will only be sold over the festival weekend.  Here is your chance for your own tasting session under the social tent.

Friday, June 9th 3:00-4:30, Danny and Japes.  Danny Schneible is a guitarist, singer/songwriter, originally from the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, now living in Houston Ohio has been playing music professionally for the past 15 years.  Danny's folk/rock music influence sounds its way through his covers of well known artists, such as James Taylor, Jim Croce, Jason Mraz and John Denver, just to name a few.    4:30-7:00, The MicStand Band - Making their fourth appearance at Poultry Days is the acoustic duo of Mike and Stan McClurg.  Two brothers who got their start playing in back yards effortlessly blend a selection of Country and Classic Rock into a style all their own.  7:30-11:30, Whisky Bizness - New to Poultry Days this is a band that loves what they do with high power and high energy shows and that isn’t just their amps.  A Darke County, 70s & 80s Based Rock Band playing the greatest songs to keep the party going all night long.  Check these guys out.

Saturday, June 10th 1:00-4:30, Higgins-Madewell  This dynamic duo has been wowing audiences since they began performing together in 2006.  Higgins-Madewell’s versatility, professionalism, dedication, and genuine love for the audience is very apparent.  Hippie Country that rocks!  From cover songs to breathtaking original music, a performance by Erin Higgins and Jeff Madewell will leave you in awe.  5:00-7:00, Strategy - is a five-piece band with decades of combined music experience from the area's most talented musicians.  Performing a diverse mix of music from Elvis to Kiss & Charlie Daniels to Judas Priest.  Strategy's recent highlights include: Opening for The Little River Band; as well as performing at many of the top local festivals, clubs, private events, and bars.  A first time appearance at the festival and definitely something for everyone.  7:30-11:30, Saw Creek – Led by experienced musician Steve Rosenbeck, along with his son Zach and two nephews Jared and Jesse Ranly.  This country music band specializes in Classic and Top 40 Country music by the likes of Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Kenney Chesney and many more.  They have played in Nashville, Toby Keith's bar and grill, and have opened for artists Dylan Scott and Clark Manson.

Sunday, June 11th 1:00-3:00, Mark Cantwil – Singer.  Songwriter.  Musician.  Multi-talented hometown favorite, this recognized solo artist and songwriter brings an incredible lineup of original music from his two solo albums “Diggin’ On You” and “Last Chance Johnny” as well as some crowd-pleasing cover songs.  Mark has opened up for National and Regional acts such as Sister Hazel, The Bacon Brothers, Chris Knight, John Moreland, Molly Hatchet, Wil Nance, Dan DeMay, Chris Cavanaugh, Greg Buroughs, Corey Cox and Clark Manson.  3:30-6:00, Taylor Westerheide & Bryant Ahrens with Rare Form – Lead vocalist Taylor (Huffman) Westerheide and guitarist Bryant Ahrens, are both graduates of Versailles High School. In 2013 Taylor teamed up with Bryant to create an acoustic duo.  Accompanying them for the second year in a row are two members of the band Rare Form.  Jay Schulze and Tyson Bender are both graduates of Fort Loramie, Ohio.  Together, they've played for several venues, festivals and bars in Dayton and the surrounding area.  6:30-10:30, Empty Tank – If you’re looking for a band that will entertain you with a wide variety of music, the Empty Tank band will not disappoint.  This high energy group performs music spanning from yesteryear's classics through today's top songs.  These guys pack in over 4 straight hours of music, 3 part harmonies, and rockin guitar and keyboard solos!   Rocking out at festivals are some of Empty Tank's favorite gigs, but you can also catch them playing at premier bar establishments, weddings, and dances.  Members include Versailles natives Tyler DeMange and Matt Meyer, Aaron Miller of Coldwater, and Andy Klosterman of St. Marys.
