Start Talking! Start Recording!
Contest invites
students to share their talents

Prevention Action Alliance, joining with the Ohio Start Talking!
initiative and through a grant from Verizon, invites all Ohio middle
school and high school students to encourage their peers to stay drug
free by participating in the Start Talking! Start Recording: Ohio’s
Youth Got Talentcompetition. The top three talent show finalists will
get to perform on stage at the We Are The Majority Rally on April 19.
Rally participants will vote on the winners.
The alliance will award scholarships to the top three contestants. The
winner of first place will receive $2,500; second place, $1,500; and
third place, $1,000. Groups that win will split their prize money among
members. To take part in the contest, students must produce an original
performance that addresses the Start Talking! message. The submission
deadline is Feb. 28.
