I was substituting at East School on Wednesday when the morning announcement congratulated its local hero, Jacob Hinshaw, on his actions Tuesday when he saw a neighbor’s shed was on fire. A little later that morning, the youngster walked past me, stopped and said, “I’m the one on the announcement.” He was sheepish but full of pride at his actions. He was precious.
