Wayne Hospital Foundation unveils Veterans Memorial

GREENVILLE – “This memorial is dedicated to every man and woman who ever served honorably in a branch of the United States military.” No distinction is made whether the service was one day or career, combat or non-combat. The Wayne Hospital Foundation funded the Veterans Memorial but also thanked David Furlong, president of Fitzwater Tree and Lawn Care for his company’s generous donation of the water rock, memorial plaque and labor to make the Memorial possible. The foundation especially thanked those who served... Read More. More Community.

As you head back to school, remember these things

With school starting back up for most students in our area, there are a few things I’d like you to keep in mind this year. It’s unthinkable. And each year in the U.S., there are more than 4,600 sudden unexpected infant deaths. What’s worse – Ohio is near the bottom compared with other... Read More. More Opinion.

Common Core Repeal Bill
‘Sub HB 597’ a Campaign
Tool, Unlike Legitimate HB 237

By Diana Fessler

In August of 2013, Rep. Thompson (R-Marietta) introduced House Bill 237 to repeal Common Core (CC) in Ohio. The bill never budged. In an attempt to give the bill some traction, Rep. John Adams (R-Sidney) introduced a discharge petition. The bill still didn’t budge. Anytime during the past year, Rep. Huffman... Read More. More Opinion.
