Delaplane files for
re-election
Mrs. Diane Delaplane has filed for re-election for Darke County
Commissioner. She enjoys serving our productive citizens of Darke
County as your first woman Commissioner. Delaplane believes that Darke
County is a Bright Spot in Ohio and promotes that message through many
avenues.
Delaplane wishes to continue with ongoing capital improvements for
County owned properties such as the Courthouse basement restrooms
renovations. Various County Departments share resources in helping the
county run smoothly. Delaplane states that we are truly fortunate to
have dedicated elected officials, department heads and staff that work
together for the betterment of our townships, villages and county as a
whole
Delaplane has been involved with open communication for the past three
years of what is happening in the county offices and events in the
area. She has seen the challenges of cuts in Government funding
such as phase out of the Tangible Personal Property Tax, loss of public
utilities reimbursement, low interest rates and the general downturn of
the economy. We have addressed these issues with several budget cuts
and working within our financial means by being fiscally responsible
and still maintain our public services.
Delaplane states that Darke County is blessed with many civic and
public service groups who serve our residents of all ages. She is a
member of many of these boards as well as being involved with the Darke
County Community Improvement Corporation, Visitor’s Bureau, Main Street
Greenville, Chambers and other organizations who showcase our county to
others by sharing all the great things Darke County has to offer. We
are in an upswing with job creation, retention and expansion and she
believes in you and our County.
Diane and husband Don recently celebrated their 37th Wedding
Anniversary. They have two children: Doug and wife Kelly and
Danielle and husband Anup and three grandchildren.
