John McAfee on drugs, guns and money

Software mogul John McAfee is on the run again in Miami, but this time it's his mouth not his feet doing the work. 

In a wild interview Friday morning on CNBC's Squawk Box, the 67-year-old who is wanted for questioning in connection to a murder in Belize, talked about drugs, guns and money, as well as his weeks in hiding. 

Here are some of the highlights: 

— On money: "Any idiot can make money, it's keeping it that's the hard part." 

— On guns: "It's certainly accurate that I had guns and lots of guns but they were in the hands of my security guards. I live in a country, sir, that has the highest murder rate in the world, check it out on the Internet." 

— On drugs: His real stance on bath salts? "If I decided to start using drugs again, I have the resources to use good drugs." 

— A day after saying he faked a heart attack to get extradited to the U.S., he said this about about hoaxes: "I do love hoaxes and I love elaborate hoaxes. but not ones that involve my detention Guatemalan jails, the shooting of my dogs, the harm to people. This is not a hoax. If it is, it's the worst hoax in the world. How could it be a hoax...
