Greenville
City Schools...
Isolated case
of bed bugs found
The monitoring of the health and wellness of the Greenville City School
student population is of utmost priority. District policies and
procedures have been developed to guide, educate, and inform parents
and staff about health issues in the school environment which include
but are not limited to: lice, flu/cold, scabies, bed bugs,
intestinal virus, pink eye, chicken pox, and ring worm.
In an effort to keep you informed, two bed bugs were recently found on
a student’s book bag and on a student’s coat. We then followed
the Department of Health prescribed protocol regarding this
issue. No other bed bugs have been detected in the
building. However, Greenville City Schools will continue to work
to identify bed bugs, provide thorough inspections of schools, and have
licensed pest control specialists assist with pest management as needed.
