Level 1 Ice Alert Issued Friday night, Cancelled Saturday a.m.

The following was issued at 1 a.m., posted on County News Online at 6

A LEVEL 1 ICE ALERT FOR DARKE COUNTY DUE TO BLACK ICE AND TREACHEROUS
ROAD CONDITIONS ACROSS DARKE COUNTY.
Darke County Sheriff Toby L. Spencer has issued a Level 1 Ice Alert for
Darke County. This Ice Alert has been issued to warn those who
must travel on Darke County roadways to use extreme caution due to
black ice and treacherous road conditions across Darke County. The snow
that fell Friday evening has froze on all roadways in Darke County,
including State & US Highways and black ice exists on most
roadways. Motorists should use extreme caution while driving overnight
tonight and on Saturday morning. The Darke County Sheriff’s Office has
responded to numerous accidents and slideoffs tonight and deputies are
still on the scene of many wrecks across the county.
This Level 1 Ice Alert takes effect immediately at 1:00 AM.
A LEVEL 1 ICE ALERT DOES NOT IMPOSE ANY RESTRICTIONS ON TRAVEL.
MOTORISTS MAY TRAVEL AT THEIR OWN RISK.
