Darke County Sheriff's Office...
Bicyclist Struck by Truck

On June 4, 2012 at approximately 4:24 PM, Darke County Deputies, along with Tri Village Rescue and Liberty Township Fire Department, were dispatched to Stingley Road, just east of Palestine Union City Road, reference an injury accident involving a pick-up truck and a bicycle.  Preliminary investigation revealed that the 1985 Ford F150, driven by Paul D. West, 47, of Hollansburg, was westbound in the 1600 block of Stingley Road when it struck the westbound bicycle, ridden by Neil A. Sanders, 48, of Greenville.  Careflight was called to the scene and transported Sanders to Miami Valley Hospital where he is listed in Fair Condition.

West was not injured in the crash.  The Darke County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the scene.  The crash remains under investigation.
