Motorcycle injury accident on Eidson Rd
On March 11, 2012 at approximately 1256 PM Darke County Deputies along
with Greenville Township Fire, Greenville Township Rescue and
CareFlight were dispatched to the 300 block of Eidson Road in reference
to an injury accident involving one motorcycle.
Preliminary investigation revealed a blue 2006 Harley-Davidson
Motorcycle, driven by Dave W. Smith, 55, Greenville, Ohio was eastbound
on Eidson Road when he was approaching a vehicle that was stopped in
traffic. Smith applied his brakes and layed the motorcycle on its
side, Smith was ejected from the motorcycle. The motorcycle
continued down the roadway traveling off the right side, coming to a
rest in the side ditch.
Smith was airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight, Smith’s
condition is unknown at this time. Smith was not wearing a helmet
during the accident.
This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s
Office.
