COLUMBUS — One of the victim’s in the multiple stabbings incident in Columbus on Wednesday is a Columbus-area attorney from Darke County.

WHIO’s Steve Baker has learned from a family member that Jeff Maloon, a Union City native, remains in the hospital after he was injured during the stabbing spree at the 25-story office building that houses Miami-Jacobs Career College and the Ohio attorney general’s office.

Police say a man armed with three knives stabbed four men, the first an admissions employee. The attacker was shot by police after running into the street.

Authorities said the attack left four men in critical condition and one with minor injuries.

Maloon, an employee of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, is in stable condition, an improvement since the incident.

Maloon grew up on the Ohio side of Union City and graduated from Union City Community High School in Indiana, according to the family.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
