Darke County Most Wanted Captured after standoff with Deputies

 On April 20, 2013 at 7:42 P. M. Darke County Deputy’s were dispatched to 205 N. Bridge St. in Gettysburg, Ohio on a tip that a suspect in the Tuesday home invasion in Greenville was located there. Mackenzie Gorrell, 20, of Greenville was located at the address but refused to exit the apartment. Gorrell was believed to be armed and dangerous.

Deputies surrounded the house and called for assistance from the Darke County and Miami County Special Response Teams along with Gettysburg Fire/EMS, Ohio State Highway Patrol, DP&L, and a K-9 and handler from Winchester, Indiana Police Department. 

Several attempts were made to get Mackenzie to come out of the apartment with no success.

After deploying tear gas into the apartment Mackenzie Gorrell exited the apartment and was taken into custody without incident.

Mackenzie was transported to the Darke County Jail where he is being held on an Aggravated Robbery charge.

Investigation is on going to determine if additional charges will be filed.
