State Senator Bill Beagle
Funding for Ohio Co-op & Internship Programs Announced
Sinclair Community College and University of Dayton get piece of $11 million

COLUMBUS– State Senator Bill Beagle (R–Tipp City) announced today that the State Controlling Board has approved nearly $11 million in funding for the Choose Ohio First Co-op/Internship Program.

“Most employers today are seeking workers who have more than just a degree,” Beagle said. “Internships and co-ops allow students to develop the real world skills and experiences they need to enter the workforce and succeed in a variety of careers.”

The University of Dayton will receive over $250,000 from this initiative, and Sinclair Community College will receive over $200,000.

The goal of the program is to better align the skills, knowledge and experience of Ohio’s workforce with the jobs that need to be filled in the workplace. Funds will be used for the administration and development of programs at 22 higher education institutions throughout the state.

Senator Bill Beagle serves the people of Ohio’s 5th Senate District, which includes Miami and Preble Counties as well as portions of Montgomery and Darke Counties. He presides as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Workforce & Economic Development. Learn more at www.OhioSenate.gov/Beagle.
