Motorcycle Injury Accident
Unknown vehicle attempts to pass, leaves scene of accident 

On July 23, 2013 at 7:10 pm Darke County Deputies, Bradford squad and fire along with Care Flight were dispatched to the 9700 block of State Route 185 on a motorcycle accident with injury. Preliminary investigation shows the driver of the 1983 Honda motorcycle was Andrew Smith of Versailles. Smith was eastbound on State Route 185 when an unknown vehicle attempted to pass Smith and two other motorcycles. The vehicle was not able to complete the pass, cutting off the lead motorcycle. 

Smith, who was the second motorcycle, slammed on his brakes and lost control suffering injuries. Smith was Care flighted to Miami Valley Hospital listed in serious condition. Witnesses on the scene stated the other vehicle involved left the scene without stopping.
