Single
vehicle accident on 121 South
On
July 10, 2013 at approximately 1824 hrs.
Darke County Deputies, along with New Madison Fire and Tri Village
Rescue were
dispatched to SR121 north of Hollansburg Sampson Rd. in reference to a
vehicle
in to a pole.
Preliminary
investigation revealed that a 2005
Dodge Dakota, driven by Mary Mehaffie (73) of Greenville, was
southbound on
SR121 north of Hollansburg Sampson Rd. Mehaffie got off the
right side of
the road and tried to get back on the road, when she over-corrected and
lost
control sliding off the left side of the roadway striking a
DP&L utility
pole. Mehaffie was treated at the scene by Tri-Village
rescue, but
refused any further treatment.
SR
121 was shut down for a short time due to
the power lines being down, but is now currently open.
Mehaffie
was cited for Failure to Maintain
Reasonable Control.
