Ohio Republican Party Chairman Matt Borges Applauds Focus on Continued Tax Relief in State Budget

COLUMBUS - Ohio Republican Party Chairman Matt Borges released the following statement today applauding the Governor and Legislature for their continued focus of providing Ohio families tax relief in the state budget:

"As the budget negotiations begin winding down, I applaud the continued strong focus on cutting taxes. Conservative policies of spending restraint and tax cuts are getting Ohio's economy back on track and anything that the General Assembly and Governor Kasich can do to let Ohioans keep more of their own money only strengthens Ohio."

Tax relief in the state budget would mark the second consecutive budget that the Governor and Republican Legislature delivered tax relief to Ohioans. In the previous budget, Republicans eliminated the death tax and ensured that a $400 million tax cut took effect.
