Air Force Marathon registration opens to sellout expectations
Joe Cogliano

Registration for the Air Force Marathon — sure to sell out again in 2014 — opens with special rates on New Year’s Day.

Sign up Wednesday for the full or half marathon and save $10 while a $5 discount applies to the 10K and 5K. New rates kick-in Thursday and go until April 1.

The Air Force Marathon — presented by Northrop Grumman, USAA and Boeing — is held in September and pumps an estimated $15 million into the Dayton-area economy.

Another note of interest: Boston Marathon Director Dave McGillivray will be the featured speaker for the 2014 Air Force Marathon. McGillivray will appear at the Sports & Fitness Expo, the Gourmet Pasta Dinner and the Breakfast of Champions, where he will be part of a panel answering runners’ questions.
