Suspects captured in Circle Mart robbery

On January 23, 2014 at approximately 6:29a.m., the Greenville Police Department responded to the Circle Mart at 100 E. Main St. on a report of an armed robbery.  During the initial investigation, officers located one possible suspect at 307 N. Main St. in Greenville.  After one subject was taken to the police department for questioning, a second suspect fled from the residence.  After a foot pursuit, I 7 year old Trey Morton was located hiding in a carport and arrested with assistance from the Darke Co. Sheriffs Office.  Morton was found to be a missing/runaway juvenile from Greenville.  He was transported to the police department and later released to Darke Co. Juvenile Court personnel and taken to the West Central Juvenile Detention Facility.

At approximately 12:34 p.m., Greenville detectives executed a search warrant at 307 N. Main St. in Greenville.  Several items were seized during the warrant. Items taken during the robbery were cash and cigarettes.

Charges are pending at this time for the person(s) involved in this robbery.  If anyone has information pertaining to this robbery, they are asked to contact the Greenville Police Department Detective Section at (937) 548-4150 or the Darke County Crime Stoppers 24 hour Tip Line at (937) 547-1661.  Callers may remain anonymous.
