Two suspects now charged with multiple offenses

Two suspects  have been named and charges  will be filed regarding  the recent  vehicle fires and thefts from vehicles which occurred  on July 22,  2014:   Joshua C. Willis, 18 years of age, from Greenville, Ohio and Lowell "Bill" Bowers, 34, also from Greenville.

Charges include multiple arsons, thefts, and felony theft and will be filed at the Darke County Prosecutor's  Office next week.

Greenville Police Department makes one arrest in vehicle fires/thefts

On July 22, 2014, the Greenville Police Department, with the assistance of the Darke County Sheriff's  Office,  has  taken  one  person, Josh Willis, into  custody  regarding  a rash  (current  count  is 7) of vehicle fires and at least 12 thefts from vehicles which occurred in the early morning  hours of July 22, 2014.  The person arrested is being transported to the Mercer County Jail at this time.

Followup released July 23...

As a follow-up to the information released yesterday,  the Greenville  Police Department  has made one arrest.  Josh Willis is currently being held in the Mercer County Jail on a theft charge.

The investigation  thus far has shown 8 vehicle fires and at least 7 thefts from vehicles which occurred in the early morning of July 22, 2014

The investigation is ongoing.

Pending charges will be filed with the Darke County Prosecutor's  Office.
