Turner pleads guilty to marijuana cultivation
By Bob Robinson

GREENVILLE – Arlis L. Turner, 48, pleaded guilty to Illegal Cultivation of Marijuana, a Felony 3 offense, March 11 in Darke County Common Pleas Court. Common Pleas Judge Jonathan Hein accepted the plea and set the sentencing date for May 12 following a pre-sentence investigation.

Darke County Prosecutor R. Kelly Ormsby and defense attorney David Rohrer agreed on a recommendation of community control sanctions, a $5,000 fine, restitution and community service.

A Felony 3 conviction carries a maximum 36 months in prison, a fine up to $10,000 and license suspension from 6 months to five years. Prison is not mandatory nor is it presumed necessary. Turner’s ‘own recognizance’ bond was continued until sentencing.
