Ohio Senate President Keith Faber
Faber Honors Memory of Captain Dennis L. Pintor

COLUMBUS- Senate President Keith Faber (R-Celina) today honored fallen soldier Captain Dennis Pintor at a memorial highway dedication ceremony held at Elida High School, where Pintor graduated from in 1992.

"It's fitting that we gather here at Elida High, where Dennis Pintor played sports and studied hard to make it into the U.S. Military Academy, to remember his life," said Faber. "This memorial highway is a constant reminder of the high price that hometown heroes like Dennis have paid to preserve our freedom."

The section of State Route 309 designated as "Captain Dennis Pintor Memorial Highway" runs between Baty Road and Piquad Road.

Pintor died in Baghdad on October 12, 2004 from an IED explosion. He was assigned to the 20th Enginner Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division out of Fort Hood, Texas when he lost his life on a combat mission to search for terrorists and identify IEDs.

Pintor, 30, left behind his wife Stacy and daughter Rhea.
