Violence suspect tased
Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey reports the arrest of a 34 year old
Joshua Dorsten of 110 West Mill Street in Mendon. On August 8,
2015 at 9:13 AM. Deputies responded to the Mill Street address in
reference to a domestic. While deputies were talking with Mr.
Dorsten he grabbed a long gun, and a struggle ensued. Once the
weapon was taken away from Dorsten he attempted to throw a coffee table
at deputies. Dorsten then rushed a deputy, tackling him out the
front door, off the porch, and onto the ground. Dorsten was tased
multiple times before being brought under control. Dorsten was
checked at the Hospital, then transported and incarcerated at the
Mercer County Adult Detention Facility. A deputy was treated and
released at the Hospital.
Mr. Dorsten is currently being held on $25,000.00 bond on charges of
domestic violence, and resisting arrested. The case will be
forwarded to the Mercer County Prosecutor for additional charges, which
would include assault on a police officer.
