receives grant for Oral Health
Healthpath Foundation of Ohio Invests $307,456 in Projects Across Ohio
to celebrate 15th Anniversary
CINCINNATI, Ohio (December 9, 2015) – To commemorate the organization’s
15th anniversary, The HealthPath Foundation of Ohio (HPF-Ohio) recently
awarded a combined $307,456 in grants to eight organizations across
Ohio that focus on preventive oral health and prevention of family
violence.
“We are honored to award eight anniversary grants, which will fund
projects that work to improve the health of undeserved Ohioans in local
communities,” said Theresa Wukusick, executive director, HPF-Ohio. “The
grants will provide funding for new or expanded safety net dental
clinics, early childhood oral health services, and initiatives to
prevent family violence.”
The 15th anniversary grantees include:
Preventive Oral Health Care
Family Health Services of Darke County, Inc.:
To add three additional operatories to the current dental center.
Community Action Committee of Pike County: To
provide acute and preventive oral services to low-income children and
adults in the Manchester area through the Manchester School-Based
Health Center's dental clinic.
Dental Center of Northwest Ohio: To open a
six-chair safety net dental clinic in Van Wert County.
Miami County Dental Clinic: To support Traveling Smiles to screen and
treat school-age children and Head Start preschoolers in the Troy,
Piqua, and Sidney areas.
Ohio Association of Community Health Centers:
To promote inter-professional care among dental and medical programs in
Community Health Centers and their school-based health centers.
Talbert House Health Center: To provide comprehensive oral health care
at Centerpoint FQHC in Franklin, Ohio.
Prevention of Family Violence
Partnership for Violence Free Families: To
support the expansion of the Adults and Children Together (ACT) Raising
Safe Kids program, primary prevention intervention for child
maltreatment and family violence
Women Helping Women: To engage the community
and professionals in the Prevent & Empower Program, a multi-layered
family violence prevention framework
