Active Shooter
Training
The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office is hosting active school shooter
training for deputies and other Mercer County Police Agencies on
Tuesday, July 21 and Wednesday July 22. The training is a
one day class, it will be repeated the second day so we can get all
officers/deputies through it.
The morning will be a presentation/classroom type instruction, the
afternoon will be actual scenarios. The news media is invited to
cover the event, for best photos/video of action, you will probably
want to come after 12:15-12:30. We plan to break for lunch
between 11:30-12:30, that is an approximate time.
The Licking County Sheriff’s Office is providing the instruction both
days. It is possible we will have some techniques that we may ask
you not to photograph or video tape. If you would like to
interview an instructor, we ask that you be there by 12:15 as we won’t
be stopping the class for interviews, but we can try to provide an
opportunity before we begin after lunch, but remember, times are
approximate.
The class will run from 8 AM – till approximately 4 PM each day at
Marion Local Schools. Should you have a question, please call or
