Injury Accident
on US 36 and Jaysville St. Johns
On March 11, 2015 at approximately 1011 hrs. Darke County Deputies
along with Greenville Township fire Department and Greenville Township
Rescue were dispatched to US Route 36 and Jaysville St. Johns Rd. in
reference to an injury accident. The caller reported a vehicle
off the roadway with possible ejection.
Investigation revealed that a 2000 GMC crew cab truck, driven by Jimmie
D. Platt, age 75, Covington, Ohio was westbound on US Route 36. The
vehicle drove off the left side of roadway into a hill, through a Pine
tree and coming to rest in a yard at the southwest corner of US Rt. 36
and Jaysville St. Johns Rd. Mr. Platt was transported to Wayne
Healthcare for treatment of his injuries.
This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's
Office.
