Deputies Investigate Motor Vehicle Accident
On Sunday, August 14, 2016 at 12:54 AM Darke County Sheriff's Deputies,
along with Gettysburg Fire Department and Gettysburg Rescue, responded
to a single vehicle injury accident in the area of Gettysburg Pitsburg
Road and Yount Road.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Richard Dillon Medrano (22), of
Bradford Ohio, was traveling northbound on Gettysburg Pitsburg Road
near Yount Road when he lost control of his 2012 Chevrolet Cruze,
traveling off the left side of the roadway, striking a guardrail. After
striking the guardrail, the vehicle went airborne before hitting a
ditch and flipping the vehicle multiple times. The vehicle then struck
a utility pole and came to rest on its side. Mr. Medrano and his
passenger, Katherine Besecker (19), of Arcanum, were transported to
Wayne Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Mr. Medrano was issued a citation for the accident.
