Injury accident leaves teen in critical condition

On July 27, 2016 at 10:31 PM Darke County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with Liberty Township Fire Department, Tri Village Rescue, Ohio State Highway Patrol Motor Carrier Enforcement and Indiana University Health’s Lifeline responded to an injury accident at the intersection of Main Street and Cross Street in the village of Palestine.  
 
Preliminary investigation reveals that a 16 year old female of Greenville Ohio, was traveling north on Main Street in a 2013 Ford Escape.  Timothy Mong (68), of Greenville, was traveling east on Cross Street in a 2011 Volvo semi truck with a trailer.  The juvenile pulled into the path of the eastbound semi.  The semi struck the northbound vehicle causing injury to the juvenile driver.  The juvenile driver was taken to Miami Valley Hospital by Lifeline. The driver of the semi was not injured.  The juvenile remains hospitalized and in MiamiValley Hospital where she is listed in Critical Condition.
 
This crash remains under investigation
