Head-on Injury Crash

On June 8, 2017 at approximately 2:26 PM, Darke County Sheriff's Deputies along with Greenville Township Fire & Rescue responded to a head-on injury crash on State Route 49 at Heritage Road.

Preliminary investigation revealed a White 2016 Ford F-250 driven by Joseph Brian Clay 23, of Union City, Indiana was traveling northwest on State Route 49 and crossed the center line into the opposite lane of travel and collided head-on with a Red 2013 Ford Focus driven by Christine Lemon 63, Greenville, OH. who was traveling southeast on State Route 49. Lemon was transported to Wayne HealthCare for her injuries and Clay was treated at the released at the scene. Both drivers were wearing seat belts. A medical condition may have been a contributing factor of the crash.

This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's Office.
