Rismiller takes two honors in Beef Showmanship

GREENVILLE- It was a dream come true for 16 year old Riley Rismiller Friday.

Rismiller won the showmanship ribbon in the intermediate division, outshowing three others in her class, then she beat out the top four overall winners to win Showman of Showman on opening night at the fair.

Sadie, a breeding heifer, is Rismiller’s pride and joy and the two made for a great team in the show ring.

Rismiller has been showing since she was eight and has finally hit the pinnacle with Sadie. Putting in a mere 90 minutes a day, Rismiller makes that time prosperous and gets all she can from Sadie.

It took her eight years but she finally reached her goal.

"Sadie and I click and she's the best show animal I ever had," said Rismiller. "Winning this has been a lifelong goal of mine since I was a little girl. This is a dream come true and it’s everything I ever worked for. Sadie keeps me motivated."

Just like everyone else, Covid-19 took its toll on Rismiller.

"It slowed me down a little bit, " Rismiller. "All the big shows we were planning to go to were cancelled and that was really aggravating. It really threw us off and I lost a little motivation to do anything. I was so excited about the big show and they pulled the plug on us."

Winners in other classes were:

Logan Brinksneader (Beginners)
Lincoln Winner (Junior Showman)
Carver Gostomsky (Senior Showman)
