Annamae “Ann” Burns

Annamae “Ann” Burns, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away Sunday afternoon, April 3, 2011, at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville.
 
She was born in Muncie, IN, daughter of the late Russell and Margie (Fadley) Eley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Burns, Sr. on November 11, 1994; a granddaughter, Jessica Lee; three brothers, Robert, Jimmy and Jack Eley; and two sisters, Geraldine Smith and Sally Brosher.
 
Ann was a real estate broker having owned and operated Ann Burns Realty in Greenville for several years. She was a member of the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Greenville and had served on the building committee for the new YMCA building in Greenville. Ann was an avid ballroom dancer for over 30 years.
 
She is survived by her children, Dr. Robert C. (Kathy K.) Burns, Jr. of Greenville, Timothy L. (Darci) Burns of Greenville, Diann Lee of Greenville, and Connie Grant of Winchester, KY; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and a sister, Charlotte L. Kane of Greenville.
 
Services will be held Thursday, April 7, at 10 a.m. at the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Greenville with Fr. R. James Larsen officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery.
 
The family will receive friends at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home, 1000 N. Broadway, Greenville, OH, Wednesday, April 6, from 6-8 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be given to the Alter Guild of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
