Billy Duane Murphy

Billy Duane Murphy, age 69 of Greenville, Ohio and formerly of Portland, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at 3:39 A.M. at Hospice of Dayton. He was born August 2, 1942 in Farmland, Indiana, the son of the late Worley & Lillie (Foster) Murphy.  He worked for United Telephone, Sprint & CenturyLink.  He served in the National Guard, Portland, Indiana; he was a 1961 graduate of Ward-Jackson High School, Saratoga, Indiana; and he attended St. John Lutheran Church, Greenville, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, Billy is also preceded in death by a brother, James Murphy; and a sister, Karen Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Ann (Heidegger) Murphy of Greenville; daughter & son in law,  Delana & Dennis Jutte of Fort Recovery, Ohio; son & daughter in law,  Alan & Misty Murphy of Castine, Ohio; grandchildren,  Zachary Murphy, Jordan Murphy, Chris Hunley, Zachery Hunley, Erica Jutte, Ethan Jutte and Evan Jutte; great grandchild,  Natalie Murphy; brothers & sisters in law,  Emmett & Barbara Murphy of Celina, Ohio and George Leroy Murphy of Zephyrhills, Florida; sisters & brothers in law,  Neva Roy of Zephyrhills, Florida, Dorothy & Norman Fenton of Winchester, Indiana, Patsy & Tom Sommer of Deerfield, Indiana, Treadesa & Larry Jackson of Portland, Indiana and Ireda Mullen of Montgomery, Alabama; and several nieces & nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Alan Knoke officiating.  Burial will follow in Weimer Cemetery, Saratoga, Indiana.  Family will receive friends on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
