William E. “Bill” Mathieson

William E. “Bill” Mathieson, age 71 of Greenville, Ohio passed away on Monday January 31, 2011, at 2:10 AM at Wayne Healthcare, Greenville, Ohio.   He was born November 1, 1939 in Pittsburgh, Pa., the son of the late Emerson Bell & Anna Margaret (Uhl) Mathieson.  He was a truck driver for Subler Transfer, Subler Trucking, Dick Lavy Trucking; he delivered cars for Porsche & BMW, & retired from J.B. Hunt Trucking.  He served in the United States Army.  He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, American Legion, and was very interested in cars.

    He is preceded in death by his parents.

    He is survived by his wife:  Joyce E. (Wimmer) Mathieson of Greenville whom she married October 3, 1959; Son & daughter in law:  Dale & Michele Mathieson of Lawrenceville, Ga.;  Daughters:  Annette Byers of Greenville, Pam Trent of Greenville; 8 Grandchildren; 2 Step Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren; 2 Step Grandchildren; Sister:  Ruth Holsburg of Greenwood, South Carolina; 3 nephews.

    Services will be held on Friday February 4, 2011 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church 131 E. Fourth Street, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Peter Menke officiating.  Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park, Covington, Ohio.  Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday February 3, 2011 at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio and 1 hour prior to services on Friday at the church.  Memorial contributions may be given to State of the Heart Hospice or Cancer Association of Darke County.
