Marlene L. Shafer
Marlene L. Shafer, age 72 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 11:25 AM
Saturday January 15, 2011 at the VITAS Inpatient Hospice Unit Dayton,
Ohio. Marlene was born July 28, 1938 in Darke County and the
daughter of the late Lloyd & Stella (Dixon) Unger.
She was a homemaker. A member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority,
Green Thumb Garden Club, Gourmet Dinner Club, enjoyed traveling in
their RV with her husband Wayne and granddaughter Samantha. She also
enjoyed her home life and family.
Marlene is survived by her husband Wayne L. Shafer of Greenville.
They were married June 7, 1958 at the Caylor Chapel EUB Church.
Also survived by her son and daughter in law Michael W. and Cathy
Shafer of Indianapolis, Indiana and granddaughter Samantha Shafer.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Thursday January 20, 2011 in the
Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with Rev. Terry Haworth
officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbottsville
Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6
until 8 PM in the funeral home.
It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to
VITAS Inpatient Hospice Unit, One Elizabeth Place Dayton, Ohio 45417.
