June Dawson

June Dawson, 93, formerly of Greenville, OH went to be with the Lord on June 25, 2011. She spent the last few years of her life living at Brighton Gardens in Centerville, OH.

    She was born in Gettysburg, OH to the late David and Desse Kyle. She married Keith Dawson in July 1942 at Camp Bowie, TX, by Presbyterian Chaplain Ben Rose.

    During WWII, while her husband served overseas, June was postmaster of the Gettysburg Post Office where she later served as clerk for over 30 years.

    June loved her church where she was a life-long member of the former Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church in Gettysburg. She cherished her many Darke County friends and especially music from the big band era.

    Preceding June in death were her parents David and Desse Kyle, husband Keith Dawson, son David Dawson, three sisters Dorothy (Bill) Brewer, Margaret (Ralph) Leckleider and Garnet (Paul) Yount. June's family and her six nieces and nephews, along with their children and spouses, brought her much happiness and enjoyment throughout her life.

    June is survived by grandson Brian (Lynn) Dawson of Centerville, OH, granddaughter Angie (Steve) Rhynard of Parma, OH, and three wonderful great-grandchildren, Kayla and Kyle Dawson and Nathan Rhynard.

    There will be a services held on Tuesday July 5, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio.  Burial will follow in Gettysburg Cemetery.  Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
