Garnett (Besecker) Grodzensky

Garnett (Besecker) Grodzensky age 98 of Greenville, Ohio passed away at 9:23 P.M. Wednesday June 8, 2011 at the Gade Health Care Center in Greenville.  She was born August 17, 1912 in Gettysburg, Ohio and the daughter of the late Frank & Ola (Eshelman) Myers.

Garnett retired in 1978 from Wieland’s Jewelry Store and was a homemaker.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Greenville, a 50 plus year member and Past Worthy Matron of the Fort Greenville Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, member of the Home Extension Club of Greenville and the Treaty City Shuffleboard Club.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Delvor Besecker in 1970, her second husband Robert Grodzensky in 2001; daughter Linda Wehrley; Brothers Vohn Myers and John Myers; sisters Opal Myers, Maxine Myers and Lena Van Horn.

She is survived by her son and daughter in law Dean & Gail Besecker of Greenville, Ohio and step daughter Judy Grodzensky of Cincinnati.  Also 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday June 13, 2011 in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home Greenville, Ohio with the Rev. Dr. John Person officiating.  Burial will follow in the Gettysburg Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the services on Monday in the funeral home.

It is the wishes of the family that Memorial Contributions be given to the Darke County Cancer Association or the First Presbyterian Church.
